Eid Live is a groundbreaking programme covering Eid al-Fitr prayers, live for the first time on a mainstream UK broadcaster, from the home of the 2025 UK City of Culture, Bradford. Hosted by Jason Mohammad, the service will be broadcast from Bradford Central Mosque on the morning of Eid al-Fitr, marking this special moment in the Islamic calendar at the end of the month of Ramadan. Eid al-Fitr means 'festival of breaking the fast'. The service will be led by Peer Syed Ahsan Shah and will feature a congregation of 1,500 worshippers, both men and women. Jason will meet worshippers before the service starts who will help to explain to viewers what is happening and its religious significance, not just for those worshipping in the mosque but for Muslims globally who will be coming together in a similar fashion. The service, which includes prayers and sermons, will be in a mixture of Qur'anic Arabic and English, with subtitles to help explain what is being said. At the end of the programme, Jason will summarise how the congregation will mark and celebrate the rest of the day before inviting the audience at home to watch another show, later on BBC One, Celebrity Eid.
